Possibly born in March based on 1870 census. Death certificate says he died in the 3rd, but then later states the doctor last saw him alive in the 4th. Obituary says that he was shot by Tom Blackmon a few days before after a dispute about Tom's hiring one of Jeff's sons. He was taken to the Rock Hill Hospital and reportedly died at 9 am the morning of the publication, the 4th.

Later changed name to Jefferson T. Blackmon. Marriage date from 'Caston and Related Families' Some information on their descendants is from the Caston book.

Lancaster Enterprise Feb. 10, 1892 -Mr. J. T. Blackmon and Miss Ellen Caston of the Primus section, were married on the 3rd inst., Rev. J. S. Croxton officiating.
