Text:

Betsy appears to be on the 1820 census. James remarried to Bethena and their first child was born in 1825. So Betsy must have died 1820-1824.

Shared note
Elisha is traditionally listed either after John or Winny. The 1830 census indicates he was born 1800-1810, but the 1810 census only one male child and one female child in the household, so Winnie was probably older.
The Reeves Project (thereevesproject.org) has identified Elisha Reeves who was living in Pike Co., GA in 1850 as Elisha, son of James. We know he was still living in 1844 when his father died, and the Elisha Reeves on the census was born about 1808-1809 in South Carolina, so this fits with the traditional information. Elisha appears to have moved in or right after 1830 as he appears in tax records beginning in 1831 according to TRP research. He was living near some of the Blackmons who had moved from Lancaster Co., SC as well. The Reeves Review II and the Reliques of the Rives incorrectly identify this Elisha Reeves as a son of William and Hannah Reeves of Wilkes County, GA. However there is no evidence that this is the case and the estate records for William prove he did not have a son named Elisha, according to TRP research.
Elisha and Bethena sued the rest of the family for the Horton Acres, mentioned in James Reeves’s will, in 1845. Elisha was active in deed and tax records in Pike County from 1831 to 1864. Green M. B. Blount administered the estate of Elisha Reeves in Pike County in 1865 and following. Therefore Elisha died 1864-1865.
