## Conventions

- Entries are indexed by **defendant**, surname first, as written in the book.
- `ads` = *ad sectam*, "at the suit of." Read each line as: *Defendant* **ads** *Plaintiff*. The clerk wrote `ads` in full on the first line of each section and used ditto marks after that.
- `Do` = ditto (same as the entry above). The clerk wrote it as a looped "D°".
- Abbreviations are kept as written. Superscripts are shown with `^` (e.g., `Benj^n`, `Sam^l`).
- `[?]` = uncertain reading. `[...]` = illegible or cut off. Alternative readings are listed in the notes.
- **First column:** **Bundle** (the heading is cut off here, but page 2 shows it clearly). Some of its numbers are partly hidden in the gutter.
- **Roll:** the judgment roll number.
